Best for

Pet owners and parents who need a portable upholstery and car spot cleaner for accidents and stains; skip if you want one machine for entire carpeted rooms.

What buyers say

The Little Green Mini earns its cult following among pet owners and parents by pulling yellowed urine, old coffee, and embedded dirt out of couches, car seats, and stairs that a full-size carpet cleaner cannot reach. Suction surprises people who expected a toy from the compact body, and the HydroRinse tool flushes the hose so the machine does not sour between uses. The clean and dirty water tanks are small, so a whole-couch job means several refills and dumps. The spray trigger only runs while the vacuum motor is on, so you cannot pre-soak a stain and walk away. It is a spot cleaner, not a whole-room carpet replacement.

Loved by buyers

•Extracts yellowed liquid and old pet stains from couches and car seats that seemed ruined
•Compact body stores in a bathroom cabinet and weighs about 7 pounds for easy carrying
•HydroRinse tool flushes the hose after use so the machine does not develop a sour smell

Buyer concerns

•Clean and dirty water tanks are small; a whole-couch job means several refills and dumps
•Spray trigger only works while the vacuum motor is running, so you cannot spray and soak
•Motor produces a high-pitched whine that is noticeable in small rooms
