Bissell
Bissell MultiClean Allergen Lift-Off Pet Vacuum with HEPA Sealed System, Detachable Canister for Stairs & Upholstery, LED Headlights, Tangle-Free Brush Roll, 2998
Best for
Allergy-prone pet homes on mixed flooring who want a sealed HEPA upright with a portable pod for stairs; skip if you expect truly tangle-free rollers or need a light push for daily long sessions.
What buyers say
Bissell's MultiClean 2998 earns loyalty from allergy-prone pet owners for its HEPA-sealed lift-off pod and one-pass carpet pickup that beats several Shark models. Hair still wraps the roller despite the tangle-free name, the pet TurboEraser axle gums up with fur and seizes, and a handful of units suffer power-button or motor failure within the first year, though Bissell support replaced them.
Loved by buyers
- •Lift-off canister turns stair cleaning into a one-arm carry job
- •HEPA sealed system kept an air purifier's dust reading flat during vacuuming
- •LED headlights show fine dust on carpet that was invisible in room light
Buyer concerns
- •Pet TurboEraser axle collects wrapped fur until the brush stops spinning
- •Heavier than expected and hard to reverse out of tight corners
- •Several owners needed full unit replacements when the power switch failed
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it effectively handle large amounts of pet hair?+
Yes, it picks up pet hair efficiently. Many reviewers note their canisters fill quickly after vacuuming just a couple of rooms, and hair is removed in fewer passes compared to older vacuums.
How easy is it to clean stairs and furniture with this vacuum?+
The lift-off canister makes stair and upholstery cleaning much simpler. Users detach the pod to carry it without the heavy main body, and the included tools reach corners and remove embedded dirt from fabric.
Is the dustbin easy to empty without making a mess?+
The dustbin is very easy to empty. Debris falls out directly into the trash without needing to pull out tangled hair, and the release mechanism is straightforward.
Do the LED lights really help see dirt under furniture?+
Yes, the bright LED headlights reveal hidden dust and hair in dark areas. Reviewers with poor eyesight or dim rooms found they caught particles they would normally miss.
