Miele
Miele NEW Guard M1 Cat & Dog Bagged Canister Vacuum for Pet Owners with Odor-Reducing Active AirClean Filter, TurboTeQ Floorhead, and AllTeQ Universal Floorhead + Performance Pack Bundle
Best for
Homes with mixed flooring and multiple pets where powerful, odor-reducing vacuuming is a daily need, but skip it if you want a low-maintenance machine and can't risk potential early reliability hiccups.
What buyers say
Most owners agree this Miele canister delivers deep, fume-free cleaning across floors and pulls up pet hair that other vacuums leave behind. The trade-off is that some units lose suction over time or arrive with defects, so you accept a higher risk of early failure for the chance at a genuinely thorough clean.
Loved by buyers
- •The ability to dial down suction prevents delicate rugs and curtains from being pulled in, a feature cheaper vacuums lack.
- •Two included floorheads (one for carpet, one for hard floors) make surface switching fast without changing attachments.
- •The Active AirClean filter noticeably reduces pet odors, a genuine benefit for multi-pet homes.
Buyer concerns
- •Suction power can decline noticeably within a year, even after replacing bags and filters.
- •The turbobrush floorhead traps tangled hair and has no clear cleaning instructions, making maintenance frustrating.
- •Quality control issues mean some units arrive defective or stop working within days.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the power cord?+
The cord reaches roughly 30 feet, and combined with the hose and wand it provides a 36-foot cleaning radius. That covers a large room without unplugging.
Is the vacuum quiet enough for apartment use?+
It operates at a low noise level, and owners describe it as much quieter than typical uprights, making it suitable for noise-sensitive environments.
Does it have true HEPA filtration?+
Yes, the Performance Pack includes a genuine Miele HEPA AirClean filter that captures fine particles, helpful for allergy sufferers.
Can I use this on high-pile carpet?+
The included turbobrush works best on low to medium pile carpets. For high-pile or plush carpets, you may need a different floorhead.
