Kenmore
Kenmore BU4050 Intuition Bagged Upright Vacuum, liftup Cleaner with Hair Eliminator brushroll, pet Handi-Mate for Carpet, Hard Floor, Rose Gold
Best for
Multi-pet homes on low to medium pile carpet who want bagged HEPA cleaning and a brush that doesn't need scissor maintenance; skip for shag rugs, delicate throw rugs, or frequent above-floor dusting that demands a flexible hose.
What buyers say
Kenmore's BU4050 Intuition lands as a bagged, HEPA-sealed upright with a hair eliminator brushroll that actually stays clear of long human hair and a lift-away pod that makes stairs a one-arm job. Suction is strong enough to inhale stray socks and paper towels, the stiff hose struggles on ceiling work, and thick shag rugs will stall the brushroll until you switch to the hose attachment.
Loved by buyers
- •Hair eliminator brushroll ran four months without a single hair tangle
- •Bag fullness indicator lights and sealed bags contain dust completely
- •Lift-away body weighs just enough for one-hand stair cleaning
Buyer concerns
- •Brushroll stops on thick shag carpet, forcing a switch to hose tools
- •Stiff hose won't stretch far enough for ceiling corners without lifting the body
- •Suction is so aggressive it swallows small toys, paper towels, and rug fringe
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the hair eliminator really keep the brushroll tangle-free?+
Yes, the brushroll stays free of hair. One reviewer noted after four months of use, she hadn't had to cut a single hair off the roller, despite long hair.
How heavy is it, and is it easy to carry up stairs?+
The vacuum is described as lightweight by many, making it easy to push and maneuver. However, when using the lift-away pod for stairs, one user found it heavier than expected to hold.
How long does a bag last before changing?+
Bags last several months with regular use, even with pets. The bag-full indicator lights prevent premature changes.
Is it loud enough to scare pets?+
It is fairly quiet. One reviewer rated it 7 out of 10 for noise and said their dogs were not afraid of it.
Can it handle both carpet and hard floors well?+
Yes, it transitions easily between surfaces with a switch. The suction is strong on both, though on washable rugs, it may be too powerful and lift the rug.
