NEW
NEW Miele Guard L1 AllFloor Bagged Canister Vacuum Cleaner with AirClean Plus Filter, AllTeQ Universal Floorhead, and AllFloor Floorbrush, LED Display Panel, in Obsidian Black/Rose Gold
Best for
A household with mostly hard floors and thin rugs that wants a lightweight, easy-to-store canister with quiet operation, but you should skip it if daily reliability is non-negotiable or you have thick carpets needing a motorized brush.
What buyers say
Most owners who receive a working unit find this canister vacuum lightweight, quiet, and powerfully suctioning, especially on hard floors. However, a notable number of buyers report units that arrive dead or fail within weeks, making reliability a genuine concern.
Loved by buyers
- •The integrated dusting brush stows right in the handle, so you never have to pause and dig through attachments.
- •Stable 4-wheel design and light body make it easy to steer around furniture and carry up stairs.
- •Powerful suction runs quieter than you'd expect from a canister this strong.
Buyer concerns
- •Some units arrive with no suction at all or stop working after a few uses due to overheating.
- •Plastic components like the bag holder and accessory clips feel cheap and break under normal use.
- •The dust bag is noticeably smaller than on other Miele models, so it fills up faster.
Frequently Asked Questions
How loud is this vacuum compared to others?+
It's quieter than many canisters, producing a low hum that won't drown out conversation, though a few users note it's not silent. Expect it to be less annoying than uprights but still audible.
How often do I need to change the bag, and is it expensive?+
The Guard L1 uses smaller bags than typical Miele canisters, so you may change them every 2-4 weeks in a busy household.
Can I use this on wall-to-wall carpet?+
No. The included AllTeQ floorhead only handles low-pile and hard floors. For plush or high-pile carpet, you'd need a model with an electric powerhead, like the Guard 1, which this all-floor version cannot accept.
Will the warranty apply if I buy from Amazon?+
Yes, as long as the seller is Amazon directly. However, some buyers received Canadian-market units; Miele honors the warranty with an Amazon invoice, but repair parts may need to come from Canada, which can delay service.
